Full Plot[]
(unfinished)
The episode begins on the Madden House at night, with Jake and Amy watching a show on TV. The show ends, with Amy remarking that she just wasted an hour of her life watching someone wait for a Great Pumpkin, that never even showed up. However, Jake reminds her that it wasn't about the pumpkin, but the message of hope, to which Amy is not amused. Just then, someone knocks on the front door, which is opened to reveal Hartley, who loudly wishes them a Happy Halloween, catching them by surprise. Hartley, excited, apologizes for the scare, but says that Halloween is her favorite time of the year, which she was excited about.
She then brings Amy and Jake outside to show them the newly redecorated exterior of the house, wanting to make their first Halloween special. She asks if they like the decoration, to which Jake is fond of, and to which Amy comments that it's a bit over the top, but that it fits her brand.
Amy goes back inside before someone mistakes her for being fun and festive, and the others go inside as well. Hartley, wondering why Amy isn't that excited, tries to get her Halloween spirit up. Just as she says this, Eva, Colby, and Vic walk in after Hartley said the word "spirit", with a literal spirit, trapped in a glass orb turned blue. The orb greets the family, to which Hartley, unaware of who's in the orb, freaks out, asking, "What is that thing!?". Amy mentions that Hartley doesn't talk about her grandmother (Celia) like that, which quickly clicks in Hartley's head. Vic states that she was going to be thrown away by the storage facility, so they had the facility ship her to them, also being "the one piece of mail the post office couldn't lose." Hartley, slightly less confused, but still confused, asks why their grandmother is in an orb. Jake then answers this question by stating that glass is the only thing that would keep her trapped, Colby backing this up mentioning that her villain spirit is really dangerous, having the ability to take over any object or person, basically being "a blue-haired body snatcher". With Hartley already dreading that thought, Eva adds that this ability of possession allows her to act out the evilest of deeds, also reminding the family of the last time her spirit was loose.
In this flashback, her spirit has entered Number Three, who is trying to fight her. Surge then asks her to stop this, the sassy spirit doing so. She then flies out of Number Three and into Havoc, who is not happy about the spirit being in her body. With her remark, Grandma suggests the things they could do with a two-in-one body, and the quality time they could spend together, Havoc only wanting a normal grandma, and out of it. Grandma then performs a trick shot; out of Havoc, through Number Three, through Chaos, and into her daughter, Surge, all of them being in pain. Surge reminds her mother that she promised never to body-snatch her own family, Grandma only shrugging it off. Surge then zaps herself to get Grandma's spirit out of her, when Kraniac holds up a glass ball, with a catch. He previously put on a glove that acts as a vacuum, which causes Grandma to get sucked into the orb. Kraniac then remarks that he was going to use it as a "hand vac", but that the orb works as well.
They come back from the flashback, reminded of why her spirit should never roam free, prompting Eva to remind the others to not let Grandma con them into being free, backing this up by mentioning that she's itching to get loose in order to reclaim the title of the most dangerous villain in the world. Grandma asks how the family could ditch her and move to Texas to be a normal family, questioning their family name. Vic answers this by saying that they were in a hurry in moving, mentioning that if he didn't have time to bring his favorite underpants, he didn't have time to bring her. Hartley, after hearing this, then decides to leave before she hears more about Vic's underpants, so that she can work on her Sunshine Club Halloween party tomorrow night. She also mentions that she invited them to the party, and asks if they knew about it, with them giving excuses as to why they didn't. Hartley continues by saying that the party is going to be fun, with all of its fun and games. Amy, however, suggests that it could be turned into a haunted house so terrifying to the point of everyone crying into their costumes. Hartley restates that it's only a party, and that they're not trying to send kids home with a stress disorder, Amy wondering what they're even doing.
Amy goes down to the lair to find one of Vic's inventions to help liven up Hartley's party, and she looks through the inventions on the table; the Brain Boiler, the Acid Rain Blaster, appreciating the creator, but not quite the cleanup. Jake and Hartley then walk in, the latter dressed up as sunshine, the former dressed up as a pumpkin, and holding Grandma's orb, intending to leave her in the basement for a while. Jake then tells Amy that Grandma's orb was left outside, leaving her to taunt people for hours. Grandma then warns Jake that he shouldn't have been too attached to his mail carrier. Hartley reminds Amy again not to be late to the party, adding that The Glee Club will kick things off with a song about getting candy corn stuck in your teeth. However, Amy and Jake give Hartley a slightly disgusted look, Hartley saying that it's a banger. She then looks at Jake, who asks Hartley if she likes his costume. He adds that anyone can be a pumpkin, but that he's pumpkin guts. Amy comments that it's smelly, gross, and hard to look at, so it's a perfect fit, Jake making a displeased face, and Hartley cringing. Amy, reminded of the party, remembers that she still has to put her costume on, and suggests that they could meet later, Hartley and Jake agreeing.
